Autumn days

The clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in. The Shropshire landscape is mellowing as the land prepares for hibernation.

I am always ready for the changing seasons. After the laziness and heat of of summer, the autumn months are full of energy and anticipation – harvest time, making, settling in, with the anticipation of celebration before winter really sets in.

I am fired up to release the mental obstacles to enjoying challenges in my mentoring work and art practice. Dowsing that little voice that urges caution! I am surprised at how quickly I look forward to meeting each day – slowly achieving goals and ticking things off my ‘to do’ list.

I found this saying the other day and it resonates on lots of levels:

“The only thing that’s keeping you from getting what you want is the story you keep telling yourself about why you can’t have it”

The only solution is to release and let go of these of thoughts the moment they arrive and focus on what’s good in your life, reflect on just how awesome you are and go for it!

…can I help you?

A morning walk between showers

It’s been so wet recently with days of drizzle however, today is a beautiful morning as I walk my lovely dog, Baggins, over the fields below Clee Hill. The wheat is ripening and late summer flowers in bloom.

What a wonderful place to centre energy and contemplate purpose…

A strong, sculptural country flower – Giant Hogweed.

The dried seed heads lend structure to a flower arrangement so I picked a few heads to take home.

Clearing your mind…

…So often, I find my mind is clouded with thoughts and indecisions…

…despite the beauty of nature that surrounds me.

If I take a few minutes to stand outside and open my eyes to the view, the dark clouds lift and I can see my way forward.

The sunshine is just waiting for you to find it!
